George Vernon Stokes (1873 - 1954) was an illustrator of great renown, who made pictures and drawings for scores of dog encyclopedias, breed books, and stories. Together with his sister Cynthia Harnett, Stokes produced numerous large format illustrated children's stories with a dog or dogs as central characters. His paintings were loose in format, lush in color, portrayed great personality, and Terriers were particularly plentiful in his body of work. This set of 20 paintings in the Dog Series was also used by other manufacturers on different sets of cards, and have also been reproduced as Postcards.

Fair: Card may be damaged by creases, folds, crack or dirty mark.
Poor: Card with a number of the above faults.
